The Power

Our species is known to have powers and abilities it doesn’t use, a good part of which fall into the category known as powers of the mind — but which could more correctly be referred to as the power of power”. It is worthwhile pointing up one such power — the power of discovering and accumulating knowledge and then the power of access and having jurisdiction over it.

WHAT POWERS DO SOCIETAL POWER STRUCTURES WORK TO CONTAIN, CONTROL, OR SUPPRESS?

The simple reality is that the powerful NEED the presence of the powerless to have something to have power over, specifically in terms of control, authority, and influence. Thus, ways and means must be discovered and implemented to keep the majority of the people as powerless as possible.

In that sense, if the powerless became aware of those ways and means, then significant numbers of the powerless would object to them. So those ways and means must at least be as invisibly subtle as possible, and even quite secret if necessary. And indeed, it is quite probable that writing and literacy can be secretly managed on behalf of this or that power structure.

EMPOWERMENT ITEMS TO IDENTIFY AND CONCEPTUALIZE GENERAL AREAS OF SOCIETAL SECRECY THAT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO PERPETUATE POWERLESSNESS AMONG THE POWERLESS.

As also discussed earlier, the “others” have to be present to have power over them. So wherever humans go they will transport with them the techniques of ensuring the presence of the “others.” Logically speaking, in terms of empowerment and disempowerment, the others need to be kept in conditions of disempowerment, to not become empowered enough to become troublesome to the powerful.

So, techniques rigged to guarantee their depowered existence range from brute force to elegant and subtle conditioning that can produce what is called “cooperative obedience or submission.”

These were the techniques used by the powers-to-be to keep people uninformed and mind controlled.

Present Versus Old Definitions of Power

The definitions of Power

“Possession of control, authority, or influence over others” — with emphasis, of course, on possession of such.

The second definition, which is omitted from some contemporary dictionaries, is given as: “A particular active property, capacity, or faculty of body or mind.”

“Ability to act or affect something strongly; to physical or mental force; to might, vigor, and energy; to force of character.”

Each individual of our species is a carrier of human powers, and is therefore not only important but also valuable.

Marquis de Vauvenargues, the French moralist and epigrammatist, who indicated “Consciousness of our powers augments them.”  This can be rephrased to read: “Becoming conscious of our powers starts up their activation.”

A power that does not become dynamic and energetic is a useless one — even though there is a latent copy for it in the genetic background of each individual.
